Gradually when many Afghan political leaders had escaped the country, Salima Mazari remained on till the abandonment of Balkh province, when her district of Chahar Kint fell to the Taliban.
Details say the woman leader has been seized by the Taliban after the terrorists occupied the entire nation and the Afghan leadership, including President Ashraf Ghani, escaped the country.
Long back, Salima Mazari became one of only three women governors Afghanistan ever observed. While a lot of the Afghan provinces collapsed without much skirmish, Salima tried everything to keep Chahar Kint in Balkh Province undamaged.
The Chahar Kint region, with Salima Mazari as its leader, handled a major battle against the Taliban. Her spirit of boycott on her district and the same marked in their fight against tyrannical forces, decided more than ever to re-establish their Emirate.
Until the final plummet, Chahar Kint was the only district under the dominance of a woman which did not crash under any of the terror groups in the district. Per The Guardian, Salima Mazari successfully settled the surrender of 100 Taliban fighters the preceding year.
In the preceding few years, Salima Mazari had achieved much praise and attention being a woman leader in Afghanistan. Speaking to The Guardian at the beginning of the latest Taliban aggression in capturing Afghanistan, Salima Mazari had conveyed concerns about the welfare of her people.
