After the Taliban dominated Afghanistan, many nations shut their embassies in Kabul. With normalcy in daily affairs slowly retrieving, some such offices have started operating.
The Indian embassy in Kabul is operational safely. The Government of India has also dispensed the salary of local employees. Maintenance charges and the salaries of local employees in the Indian embassy in Kabul are being paid timely by the Government of India.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is also interacting from the Kabul embassy regularly. Banks in Kabul are paralyzed.
Some Indians are stranded in Afghanistan (Kabul) and the government is trying to evacuate them.Plane movement is barred by the Taliban.
How many employees are present in the Indian Embassy in Kabul is not known clearly as the situation remains hostile.
India has removed over 550 people either from Kabul or Dushanbe. Of these, more than 260 were Indians.
