Hyundai Motor Group has taken the initiative to popularize hydrogen energy by the year 2040. The automobile company unveiled a high-performance hydrogen electric sports car called “Vision FK”. This was done at the Hydrogen Wave global online event that took place on September 7, 2021.
“Hyundai Motor Group’s vision for the future hydrogen society is to make hydrogen energy to be used by everyone, for everything, in everywhere. We are planning to achieve this hydrogen society by 2040,” said the Chairman of Hyundai, Chung Eui-Sun. High level of carbon emission has been a problem for countries all around the globe. Using hydrogen-fueled vehicles can be a solution this problem.
Hyundai Groups is planning to apply hydrogen fuel cells to all of its existing and upcoming commercial vehicles by 2028. The company aims to achieve zero-emission by making public transport like buses, hydrogen powered.
Chairman Chung Eui-San said in the event that, “Hyundai Motors will contribute to establishing global hydrogen society by applying hydrogen fuel cells in not only various transportation including trains, trams, ships, but also to overall daily facilities and industries such as houses, buildings, factories, and power plants,”.
