Once again, Gurdwara Karta-e-Parwan in Kabul, became the object to extend terror among the minority community in Afghanistan.
Heavily armed people, demanded Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, invaded the gurdwara and threatened the Sikh and Hindu community members present.
Puneet Singh Chandhok, president of the India World Forum, said the mishap occurred at 2 pm when dubious persons infringed the gurdwara in Kabul.
The private security of the sanctuary and the minority community members tried to resist them. But they manhandled and threatened with terrible consequences.
“I received distressed calls from Sikh brethren stranded in gurdwara facing dire moments. Nearly 20 members of the community are present inside the gurdwara. They conveyed serious concerns and fearing danger to their lives and prayed for their safe removal from Kabul,” he said.
After raiding the gurdwara, they infringed on the premises of the community school. Attached next to the gurdwara where the children of the minority community studied.
Simultaneously, some of the invaders also raided the former residence-cum-office of Afghanistan MP Narinder Singh Khalsa. Situated just adjacent to the gurdwara.
Khalsa was among the lot of 168 Afghan and Indian nationals removed safely on an IA Force flight. On August 22 it landed at Ghaziabad’s Hindon Air Force base.
This was the second event in the past 10 days, when dubious Taliban troops entered and ravaged the same gurdwara premises.
Previously, on October 5, the armed persons infringed the gurdwara, handcuffed the private security persons. Detained the local Sikh sangat present in the gurdwara then and vandalized gurdwara property, including CCTV cameras.
A video clip displayed the gunmen with covered faces frisking the drawers of an almirah, displacing the furniture.
