One person deceased and 13 left harmed in a blastinside a market area in Pakistan’s Karachi on late Thursday night. Reported by the local media. The blast occurred in the commercial zone of Saddar.
Many of the wounded people in the critical list and “most of them injured. After hit by ball bearings from blasting materials”, detailed Xinhua quoting the medical superintendent of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).
Many vehicles around the site damaged and windows of the nearby building cracked. Reported news agencies citing Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Sharjeel Kharal. The senior police official briefed that two government employees were among the wounded.
Explosive material positioned in the carrier of the bicycle which blasted using a time device. Reported by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).
“The blast made locally and about 2 to 2.5-kilograms of explosive material composed in it,” ANI quoted BDS as saying.
The blast took place two weeks after a suicide bombing at the University of Karachi’s Confucius Institute in the Pakistani port city. Killed four individuals including three Chinese nationals.
The suicide attack asserted by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). A separatist group from the southwestern district of Balochistan, and executed by BLA’s first woman suicide bomber.
