Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dinesh Sharma said that the issue of next CM is clear. The BJP has made it very clear that the upcoming Assembly elections will be fought under the leadership of Adityanath. “The central leadership has made it clear that the party will contest elections under Yogi Adityanath ji to return to power,” said Dinesh Sharma in an interview.
According to Sharma, the opposition fanned discontent amongst farmers against the current leadership. This might cost BJP dearly in western UP as the protest continues. Western UP comprises of 100 seats of the states 403 seats.
Yogi Adityanth’s declining popularity in UP:
Yogi Adityanath’s popularity has drastically declined in the past three months. His alleged efforts at propelling religious polarization in the state is the major reason behind his declining popularity. Furthermore, his “Abba ji” remark at the Kushinagar event also fired back.
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav has earned some popularity amonst the masses of UP. According to the Political Stock Exchange complied by Axis My India, Yadav’s popularity rating has jumped by 8%. On the other hand, Yogi Adityanth’s popularity rating fell by 5% in the past five months.
