US: 4 killed as a small jet crashed after taking off from a small airport in Connecticut. The plane took off at 10 AM From the Robertson Airport before crashing into the building at Trumpf Inc., a manufacturing company, Farmington Police Lt. Tim McKenzie said.
Some type of mechanical problem during the takeoff sequence caused the crash.
The plane, a Cessna Citation 560X, was flying to Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina. Two pilots and two passengers aboard the plane died. Their names are not yet released.
The crash exploded chemical fires inside the Trumpf building. People inside the Trumpf building has been accounted for and there were no serious wounds. Lamont said authorities were in the process of marking those who died on the plane.
Farmington is in central Connecticut, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of the state capital of Hartford.
