Construction company penalised for violating safety norms

Construction company penalised for violating safety norms

Posted on March 1, 2026 By admin

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on a construction company for failing to adhere to guidelines for clean and safe construction near Tidel Park in Thiruvanmiyur.

According to a press release, the company did not follow the prescribed norms relating to cleanliness and safety at the construction site.

The violation was detected during inspection in the area, following which action was initiated. Receipts issued in connection with the penalty indicated that the fine was imposed under the category of “Clean and Safe Construction – Vehicle Violation”.

The civic body reiterated that construction activities within city limits must comply with guidelines issued to ensure public safety and maintain cleanliness in surrounding areas.

Officials stated that monitoring of construction sites is being carried out and action will be taken against violations of prescribed norms.
