British firm Colebrook Bosson Saunders eyes India as potential ergonomics market

British firm Colebrook Bosson Saunders eyes India as potential ergonomics market

Posted on December 18, 2025 By admin

British company Colebrook Bosson Saunders (CBS), a designer, manufacturer and distributor of ergonomic products for office/IT workers and having a manufacturing facility in India “is witnessing growth in the Indian market as the country’s premium workplace design market is evolving rapidly with rising demand for better office ergonomics,” said it’s managing director.

“We grew 128% in the Indian market last year. We continue to see that growth this year as well with large multinationals and local companies who are supporting people connected to technology,” said Andy Humphreys, Managing Director of Colebrook Bosson Saunders and SVP, MillerKnoll U.K. & Ireland.

Among Indian cities, CBS is seeing maximum growth in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. “We are seeing plenty of opportunity in these markets where large multinationals are moving in and growing their office space. One of the interesting things that came up in the conversation was how the infrastructure needs to develop and grow to support the development of office space,” he said.

“We see that as offices grow, the infrastructure continues to struggle and the commute times continue to get longer,” said Mr. Humphreys.

“We see people spanning themselves between an office environment and a home working environment or even a cafe or another place where people might be working. We want to make sure that people are educated in what’s good ergonomic seated working position. The reason we want that to happen is because poor ergonomics will have an impact on your health over a longer period of time,” Mr. Humphreys said.

2025 was a landmark year for CBS as it celebrated 35 years in human-centric design and relaunched the Flo Monitor Arm, redesigned for today’s hybrid work with a sleek, functional profile. MillerKnoll recently launched more than 30 new products in a single year, underscoring its commitment to innovation.

Mr. Humphreys explained that growth was being driven by both new product development and recovery in workplace demand.

He highlighted CBS’s recent launches — Flo X, a heavy monitor arm designed virtually during lockdown, and the new Flo, a successor to their best-selling Flo Monitor Arm, which has sold more than four million units worldwide.

India’s premium workplace design market is evolving rapidly, and Mr. Humphreys said technology integration was moving fastest.

“AI adoption is reshaping workplaces. The internet took 16 years to reach a billion users; AI has taken three. That shows how quickly it’s being implemented,” he noted.

He also highlighted the growing importance of amenities and experiences in office spaces. “Gen Z is looking for creativity and variety. Offices are introducing experiences like photography workshops, sewing classes, or even vocal studios. It is about creating environments that inspire people beyond day-to-day work,” he said.
