India opener Abhishek Sharma is not worried about the dip in form that has affected Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav.

“I’ll you one thing straight away. Trust me, Suryakumar and Shubman will win matches for India in the World Cup, and matches before the World Cup as well. I’ve played with them for so long, especially with Shubman. I know where Shubman can excel, in what conditions, irrespective of the opponent. I have full trust in him. Very soon, everyone else will gain that trust in him too,” Abhishek, who scored a fluent 35 in the third T20I against South Africa here on Sunday, said in the post-match press conference.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram stated that he was surprised that the match turned out to be a low-scoring affair.

“Everything took us by surprise. It looked like a good batting wicket. The Indian team felt the same, as did Ravi Shastri (at the toss). We did not expect it to do that much. It was challenging, but you have to have a plan to try and get a competitive score. Ultimately, we were 20-30 runs short,” Markram said.
