Asia Cup trophy not awarded to champions India after they refuse to accept it from ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi

Asia Cup champions Indian team on Sunday (September 28, 2025) refused to accept the winners’ trophy from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also happens to be Pakistan’s Interior Minister and chairman of the country’s cricket board. As Mr. Naqvi stood on one side for the presentation ceremony to begin, Indian players were standing within 15 yards, refusing to budge from their places and the formalities were being inordinately delayed.

A curfew was enforced for the fifth straight day. Officials said the last rites of the victims, Jigmet Dorjay, 25, a resident of Kharnakling village, and Stanzin Namgyal, 23, a resident of Igoo village, were held in Leh town between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

RJD, Congress to give up seats in favour of allies in Bihar

The Rashtriya Janata Dal-led Mahagatbandhan in Bihar is veering towards a seat-division formula, where the two biggest parties in the coalition — the RJD and Congress — will contest fewer seats than they did in the previous Assembly election. Each party could give up at least a dozen seats to accommodate other allies, including Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party. The final formula will depend on seat-wise deliberations between the allies.
