Green protocol to be observed during festival celebrations at Ernakulam Siva Temple

Posted on January 20, 2025 By admin

The district administration will implement green protocol during the festival celebrations at the Ernakulam Siva Temple from February 2 to 9.

District Collector N. S. K Umesh, who convened a meeting here on Monday (January 20), requested the cooperation of the traders to avoid littering and ensure adherence to waste management regulations. Waste collection bins will be set up at the temple premises. Disposable glasses, plates and banned plastic items will not be permitted, according to a release.

Squads will be deployed to prevent littering. Banners and placards will be placed around the temple premises to raise awareness about illegal waste dumping and promote adherence to the green protocol. The Collector also instructed the temple authorities to comply with regulations related to the parading of elephants. He said that the norms regarding the distance between tuskers have to be ensured.
