Next Cabinet meet likely to take up caste census report

Posted on January 16, 2025 By admin

The Karnataka Socio-Economic and Educational Survey report (caste census report) is likely to be discussed in the next State Cabinet meeting.

A discussion on the report was deferred on Thursday and it would be taken up in the next meeting, said Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil after the Cabinet meeting.

Twin towers

The Cabinet approved the appointment of transaction advisers for the construction of twin towers on 8.78 acres at Anand Rao Circle in Bengaluru. After the appointment of transaction advisers, the matter would come before the Cabinet again for clearance of the project which would create space for government offices.

The Cabinet decided to upgrade 13 maternity hospitals in Bengaluru city at an estimated cost of ₹413.71 crore under the Brand Bengaluru project. It approved ₹238.72 crore for Bengaluru urban flood risk management programme under the 15th Finance Commission.

Among other key decisions, the Cabinet approved the Transplantation of Human Organs (Amendment) Act, 2011, to be introduced in the State legislature. The Cabinet also approved the establishment of an integrated university in Mandya for horticulture and agriculture. It approved ₹13.3 crore for free eye tests across the State and distribution of spectacles.
