The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has criticised the Congress government for continuing the spree of arrests of BRS leaders and ranks for staging protests against the Congress ranks’ attack on the Bhuvanagiri BRS office, after promising democratic rule as the seventh guarantee.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, former MLA Methuku Anand and party leader Panjugula Srisail Reddy said Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy was flouting democracy in every possible way and not only the seventh guarantee but the Congress government had failed to implement the other six guarantees too.

Alleging that some of the Chief Minister’s family members had become extra-constitutional powers and bossing over the government authorities. Citing an example, they mentioned that the Vikarabad district authorities were according royal treatment to A. Tirupathi Reddy, brother of Mr. Revanth Reddy. The District Collector had come out of his office to welcome Mr. Tirupathi Reddy without holding any post or position and was distributing Kalyana Lakshmi and CMRF cheques in the presence of officials.

They alleged that the Chief Minister was creating teams in every constituency to attack the rival parties’ leaders and offices. Instead of stopping the Congress elements from attacking BRS offices, the police personnel were busy video-filming the attacks.
