Low-cost carrier SpiceJet on Friday (January 10, 2025) said it will unground 10 more aircraft by mid April.

Since raising ₹3,000 crore through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), the airline has added 7 aircraft and ungrounded three of its planes that needed maintenance allowing the airline to grow its active fleet size to 28 aircraft.

In a press statement, the airline said it has either added or restored a total of 60 flights over the past three months as a result of the improved aircraft capacity.

At the time of the QIP, the airline had 36 grounded aircraft out of the total 54 in its fleet.
