Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted XIs: Will GT, SRH Tinker With Their Combinations?

Posted on March 31, 2024 By admin

With a victory at home and a recent defeat against the Chennai Super Kings on away soil, Gujarat Titans will aim to bag two crucial points against the high-flying SunRisers Hyderabad in Match 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 31. After starting their campaign on a high note with a six-run win over MI, Gujarat lost to CSK by 63 runs. On the other hand, Hyderabad lost their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders by four runs in a nail-biting contest. They stormed past MI by 31 runs in their second match of the season, breaking RCB’s 263-run record of scoring the highest total by a team in the IPL with 277 runs.

As both teams progress towards their third game of the tournament, let’s delve into the predicted XIs ahead of a highly-anticipated encounter.

GT Predicted XI

Wriddhiman Saha (wicketkeeper)

GT’s second-highest run-getter in IPL 2024, Wriddhiman Saha has not exactly gotten off to a dream start this season but has managed to get GT off to a brisk start in two games. He has piled up 40 runs so far and is expected to go on a rampage against SRH.

Shubman Gill (captain)

Captain Gill had a short stint at the crease in his previous outing against CSK. A peach delivery by Deepak Chahar sent him packing for a mere eight runs. Shubman Gill may have succumbed to a lot of pressure in a short interval this season but that can be his fuel to the fire to set Ahmedabad ablaze against SRH.

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan leads the top scorers list for Gujarat Titans with 80 runs in two matches. His ability to anchor the innings and accelerate when needed makes him a valuable asset in the predicted playing XI against SRH.

Vijay Shankar

The experienced all-rounder is a key player in the predicted playing XI against SRH. Known for his ability to contribute with both bat and ball, Vijay Shankar adds balance to GT’s middle order. He hasn’t fired away in the ongoing season but is likely to make waves as the tournament progresses.

David Miller

Gujarat Titans’ Mr Dependable David Miller will be an exciting prospect to watch out for when he goes head-to-head against his compatriots who will dawn the SRH colours. Miller has always stepped up during high-scoring encounters and by judging the playing styles of both teams, one can expect the southpaw to grab the spotlight in this mouth-watering clash.

Azmatullah Omarzai

Known for his pace variations and hard-hitting abilities, the Afghan youngster Azmatullah Omarzai could be a key inclusion to GT’s probable playing XI in this encounter. Known for his aggressive batting style, Omarzai can provide quick runs in the middle overs. He can scalp early wickets with his pace bowling during the powerplays.

Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia, a seasoned campaigner in the IPL, is set to play a crucial role in the playing XI against SRH. Known for his big-hitting prowess and handy leg-spin bowling, Tewatia brings versatility to the team. With his experience and skill set, he is expected to be a key player in the upcoming match.

Rashid Khan

The Afghan leg-spin sensation is a key figure in the GT’s playing XI against Hyderabad. Rashid Khan failed to perform with the ball against CSK in his previous match but his experience of five seasons with the Orange Army will be of high value in this encounter. One cannot write off Rashid Khan in the T20 format that easily. He is likely to spin his web around the SunRisers’ batting lineup.

Spencer Johnson

With three wickets in two games, Australian fast-bowling sensation Spencer Johnson will be the star bowler for GT. Known for his ability to generate pace and extract bounce from the pitch, Johnson is likely to rip through a resilient Hyderabad batting line-up.

Mohit Sharma

An Ashish Nehra favourite, Mohit Sharma is likely to be an integral part of GT’s fast-bowling unit in the upcoming encounter. His ability to provide crucial breakthroughs makes him a key inclusion in the playing XI. He has three wickets to his name in the tournament so far and would be rearing to add to the tally against Hyderabad.

Sai Kishore

Known for his accuracy and ability to vary his pace, Sai Kishore can be effective in containing the opposition’s scoring rate. The talented left-arm spinner has picked up two wickets and he could bring in the required backup to Rashid Khan’s spin-bowling firepower.

SRH Predicted XI

Mayank Agarwal

The dynamic top-order batter known for his aggressive strokeplay, is likely to feature in SunRisers Hyderabad’s predicted playing XI against Gujarat Titans. With a solid technique and the ability to accelerate the innings, Agarwal provides stability at the top of the order. But that’s not it, his agility in the field cannot be ignored. Mayank’s ability to stop crucial boundaries and sixes makes him a batter’s nightmare on the field.

Travis Head

With an electrifying outing against the Mumbai Indians in his previous game, Travis Head will open the innings with Mayank Agarwal for Hyderabad. Travis scored 62 runs off just 24 balls in his first game, Head could send the GT bowlers to the cleaners in the upcoming clash.

Abhishek Sharma

Batting at one down for the SunRisers, Abhishek Sharma is expressing himself rather brilliantly in IPL 2024. With a mammoth strike rate of 226.19 and a total of 95 runs in two games, Sharma can speak volumes with his bat if put to the test against Gujarat’s bowlers.

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram is expected to play a pivotal role in SRH’s playing XI against GT. Known for his elegant stroke play and solid technique, Markram adds stability to the top order. His ability to build an innings and accelerate when needed makes him a valuable asset in the middle overs.

Heinrich Klassen (wicketkeeper)

The man who led SunRisers to the highest-ever IPL total of 277 runs, hard-hitting sensation Heinrich Klassen is expected to go on a rampage at the Narendra Modi Stadium. With an impressive strike rate of 226.98 and a total of 143 runs in just two matches, Klassen’s explosive batting in the middle order makes him a key inclusion to the SRH squad.

Pat Cummins (captain)

Captain Cummins has not fired away with the bat as of now for SunRisers Hyderabad. But he has managed to make an impression with the ball taking three wickets in two matches. The ICC Men’s CWC 2023 winning captain is likely to step up and prove his mettle against a star-studded Gujarat side.

Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad, the promising young all-rounder from Jammu and Kashmir, is expected to feature in SRH’s playing XI against GT. Known for his powerful hitting abilities, Samad adds depth to the team’s lineup. His ability to score quick runs in the lower middle order makes him a valuable asset for the Orange Army.

Shahbaz Ahmed

The bowling all-rounder will be handy in leading the spin attack for SunRisers. He has not been quite handy with the ball yet, but he could get crucial scalps for his team in the upcoming match. Shahbaz can also contribute with the bat and score much-needed runs on days the SRH batting order would crumble.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the seasoned Indian pacer, is likely to feature in SRH’s playing XI against GT. Known for his ability to swing the ball both ways and bowl accurate yorkers, Bhuvneshwar is a potent force with the new ball and at the death. His experience in the IPL and his knack for picking up crucial wickets make him a key player for SRH.

Mayank Markande

SRH is likely to depend on the services of Mayank Markande when it comes to spin bowling. Markande is a handy bowler who picks up wickets in the middle stages of the game. Mayank clinched two wickets in two matches and would be rearing to improve his tally against Gujarat.

Jaydev Unadkat

Known for his ability to swing the ball and bowl deceptive slower deliveries, Unadkat can be a potent force in the middle overs and at the death. With two wickets in two matches, Unadkat is likely to use his skills and expertise to play a crucial role in the upcoming match.
