Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewing the arrangements for the 31st CII Partnership Summit through a video-conference on Saturday.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said connecting the State’s industries with the global markets and opening up new business avenues for the MSMEs should be the primary objective of the 31st CII Partnership Summit being held in Visakhapatnam on November 12 and 13.

Taking stock of the arrangements for the mega event in a review meeting on Saturday, Mr. Naidu said the summit was intended to enhance Andhra Pradesh’s image among the investor community, and every effort should be made to fulfil its purpose.

He said delegates from approximately 59 countries were likely to attend the two-day international summit being organised with the theme, ‘Navigating new world order: Trade, technology, trust’.

Around 1,250 participants, including 15 foreign Ministers, over 40 international speakers, 350 foreign delegates, and 900 Indian delegates would be part of the deliberations.

Advantages

The Chief Minister said policies such as payment of industrial incentives through an escrow account and ‘speed of doing business’ should be showcased globally. Focus should be laid on sectors such as green energy, technology, and semiconductors, he called upon the organisers, pointing out that Andhra Pradesh was the only State that possessed the advantages of excellent policies, capable professionals, infrastructure, knowledge, and strong leadership.

The fact that investing in Andhra Pradesjh would be safe and effortless should be highlighted, he instructed the officials concerned.

Mr. Naidu said 400  Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings were being conducted to foster partnerships among business entities and governments.

In addition to the delegates from various countries, including Singapore, Nepal, Cambodia, Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, the Slovak Republic, Mauritius, Mozambique, Egypt, Algeria, Tanzania, and Guatemala, Ambassadors from various nations and representatives from the World Food Programme, Asian Development Bank and United Nations Environment Programme would take part.

Thrust areas

The discussions would cover six primary sectors — Trade (investments and global value chains), Trust (geo-economics and global cooperation), Agriculture (food security and bio-based economy), Talent (skills and international employment opportunities), Technology (innovation and future industries), and Clean Energy (sustainable growth).

CII Director-General Chandrajit Banerjee and Deputy Director-General Neerja Bhatia took part in the review meeting through video-conference as also senior IAS officers Mukesh Kumar Meena, N. Yuvaraj, Chiranjiv Chowdhary, Katamneni Bhaskar and S.S. Rawat.
