Posted on November 4, 2026 By admin

The Forest Department officials have arrested two persons on charges of possession of ebony logs in Dindigul district.

Acting on a tip-off, the Forest Department officials conducted a raid at a shop owned by K. Sivaraman in Dindigul and at his residence in Malaipatti. The officials seized around 1.5 tonnes of ebony logs valued at approximately ₹2 lakh from Sivaraman’s shop and residence. He was arrested.

Sivaraman revealed that he got the ebony logs from a trader R. Muthuraja from Kallupatti. The officials arrested Muthuraja. He revealed that the ebony logs were supplied to him by Thirumal from Madurai. The Forest officials have registered a case and are on the lookout for Thirumal.
