Three districts in Telangana were placed under red alert — indicating possibility of heavy to very heavy with isolated extremely heavy rain — on Tuesday (November 3, 2026), under the impact of the severe cyclonic storm Murasu (war drum). The eye of the storm crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast at 5.30 a.m.

While Nalgonda and Nagakurnool were earlier placed under the weather alert, India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre on Tuesday has forecast heavy to very heavy with isolated extremely heavy rain in Suryapet, Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.

Orange alert to one district

Only Mahabubabad was placed under orange alert, meaning heavy to very heavy rain, as per the IMD’s impact based rainfall bulletin issued in the afternoon. Moderate to heavy rain was forecast in Nalgonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, Hanumakonda, Warangal and Mulugu.

Till 12.00 p.m., the highest of 25.5 mm rain was recorded in Madhira of Khammam, followed by 22.8mm in Sathupalle and 20 mm in Vemsoor, as per Telangana Development Planning Society’s State rainfall data.
