Minister for Social Justice Vanni Arasu distributed appointment orders to 1,172 job seekers at a private sector job fair held at St. Ann’s College of Arts and Science in Tindivanam on Saturday (October 31, 2026).

The event was organised jointly by the Villupuram district administration, the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre, and the Tamil Nadu State Rural Urban Livelihoods Mission, under the chairmanship of District Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman.

According to a press release, more than 167 companies interviewed 4,214 candidates at the fair. Besides those selected for employment, as many as 163 candidates qualified for the second round of selection.

Speaking at the event Mr. Vanni Arasu said district employment and career guidance centres were organising small-scale private sector recruitment camps on the third Friday of every month and two large-scale camps annually to help unemployed young people secure jobs.

He said free coaching for competitive examinations was also being provided through study circles functioning at employment offices. In Villupuram district, more than 1,672 candidates had attended 20 coaching programmes for examinations conducted by the TNPSC, TNUSRB, Teachers Recruitment Board and Staff Selection Commission. Of them, 164 had cleared examinations and secured government jobs, he said.

Mr. Rahman said five small-scale recruitment camps and one large-scale camp held in the district since June 2026 had helped 1,058 job seekers secure jobs.
