Rowdy arrested for writing ‘want to hire a killer?’ message on MTC bus

Rowdy arrested for writing ‘want to hire a killer?’ message on MTC bus

Posted on October 29, 2026 By admin

In an unusual attempt to frame a rival, a 33-year-old petty criminal allegedly scribbled a message on the back of a seat in a Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) bus, inviting people seeking to hire a killer.

The MKB Nagar police arrested Zahir Hussain of Thalankuppam near Ambattur, who has 10 criminal cases against him, after analysing CCTV footage from the bus. The message read, “Want to murder someone? Contact this number,” followed by the phone number of Vicky from S.M. Nagar

The message, which circulated on social media, prompted the police to register a case and investigate. When the police contacted Vicky, he denied writing the message and questioned why he would publicly display his own number to invite trouble. He suspected that someone bearing a grudge against him had done it.

The police then examined CCTV footage from inside the bus and identified Zahir Hussain as the person who had allegedly written the message. The handwriting of the accused also was a match.

The police suspect that the accused intended to implicate his rival Vicky by making it appear that he was soliciting work as a murderer. Further investigation is under way.
