A Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) team launched a search at the residence of DMK former Minister K.N. Nehru at Thillai Nagar in Tiruchi on Thursday (October 29, 2026).

The operation, carried out by a team headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, began at around 7 a.m.

Mr. Nehru, who was the Municipal Administration Minister during the DMK regime, was present at his residence when the search operation commenced, said police sources. The reason for the search was not immediately known.

This is the second time since September that the DVAC has conducted searches at the residence of Mr. Nehru and other places linked to him at Chennai.

Searches were conducted in September as part of an investigation into the alleged irregularities in contracts awarded by the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department between 2021 and 2025, when Mr. Nehru held the portfolio.
