Posted on October 20, 2026 By admin

An eight-year-old girl who went missing from Karumangazhani village near Sriperumbudur in Kancheepuram district. has been traced by police.

Bestty, 8, daughter of Vishwanath and Kalpana, who hail from Jharkhand, was living with her mother and maternal grandparents. A few days ago, Kalpana returned to Jharkhand.

The girl, who was staying with her grandparents, reportedly left home last Friday and was seen walking near a National Highway. She did not return home, and relatives searched several places but could not trace her.

Based on a complaint, Sriperumbudur police registered a case and launched a search for the girl. A sniffer dog was also deployed to search the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, local residents said the girl was seen standing with a bag at the Araneri bus stop. Police said scrutiny of CCTV footage suggested that she might have travelled by bus to Poonamallee. Sriperumbudur police conducted intensive search.

The girl was traced to a children’s home in Kellys by Sriperumbudur police. A police inspector visited the home in person and verified the girl’s identity and well-being.
