On being alerted, members of the special narcotics vigilance cell of Basavana Bagewadi police station raided a farm in Dindawar village. As per rules of NDPS Act, they inspected the farm, confirmed the offence, and arrested Sharanappa Jeer, 56. They found that he had cultivated red gram on the periphery but planted over 500 cannabis plants in the middle.

The cannabis had a total weight of 202.75 kg and had a total value of ₹1,01,37,500.

A case was registered.

Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi appreciated the efforts of officers Chandrakant Nandareddy, Gurushanth Dashyal, and other members of the team.
