“Lion In Front Of Lambs”: Navjot Singh Sidhu’s Blockbuster Praise For Captain Rohit Sharma

Posted on March 20, 2024 By admin

Known for his quirky one-liners, former India opening batter Navjot Singh Sidhu is set to resume his commentary duties during the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Sidhu has been roped in by IPL’s official television broadcast partners Star Sports for IPL 2024. He will be part of both english and hindi commentary teams. Speaking to Star Sports ahead of the start of IPL 2024, Sidhu reserved huge praise for India skipper Rohit Sharma, who will be playing under Hardik Pandya‘s captaincy at Mumbai Indians this season.

With India set to take part in the T20 World Cup straight after the IPL, Sidhu also spoke on Rohit’s fitness.

“I am not sure about Rohit’s fitness levels. With age you tend to slow down, your reflexes tend to go. Sehwag with those glasses, his reflexes were not the same, I saw it in the IPL.”

Meanwhile, Rohit was removed as captain by MI, with the franchise appointing Hardik as the new leader.

MI traded Hardik from Gujarat Titans before the IPL 2024 players auction. However, the decision to replace Rohit with Hardik received a lot of backlash from the MI fans.

Rohit is the most successful captain in the history of the IPL, alongside MS Dhoni, having led MI to five titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020).

Hardik, on the other hand, led GT to IPL glory in their debut season in 2022 and then guided them to the final last season where they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

MI face Hardik’s former team GT in their opening match of IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
