A road accident reported on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) near the Afghan Church area in Mumbai’s Colaba region, has resulted in the death of two persons after a two-wheeler rammed into a road divider.
According to the police report, the accident occurred between 4.45 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Wednesday (September 23, 2026), on the northbound carriageway of Nanabhai Moosa Marg, Colaba. The police on duty reported the incident around 6 a.m. According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official, the cause of accident is reported as losing control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the road divider.
Both the injured persons were brought to G.T Hospital for treatment. However, after examination, the medical officer Dr. Vivek, declared both of them dead before they could be admitted.
The deceased persons are identified as Sumit Satwan Valmiki (22) and Sanju Satwan Valmiki (15), both residents of Ganeshmurti Nagar in Cuffe Parade, originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Pipri region in Budaun district.
The deceased, Sumit, was riding a TVS Raider motorcycle (MH 01 FK 3556) when he crashed into the protective wall of Gangotri Building on Nanabhai Moosa Marg. He sustained serious injuries to his head and face. The pillion rider, his younger brother Sanju, also sustained serious injuries to his head and face.
An accidental death (ADR) entry has been registered in the case. A forensic team visited the scene and collected samples from the spot.
This accident comes just two days after three people were killed when a BMW car plunged about 70 feet from the Costal Road bridge during the Ganesh festival.
In the past week, three accidents have been reported, with at least six people losing their lives. On September 18, an accident in the Borivali East area involving a taxi killed an Indigo cabin-crew member.
