Multiple Delhi schools receive bomb threats, searches underway

Several schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Monday (September 21, 2026) morning, prompting the Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Services and other security agencies to launch search operations at the school premises.

The Delhi Fire Services received three calls regarding bomb threats at schools between 9.41 a.m. and 10.50 a.m., it said. The first call was received at 9.41 a.m. from Mother International School in Hauz Khas. The threat was subsequently declared a hoax after verification and search operations at the premises.

The second call was received at 10.34 a.m. regarding Navy Children’s School in Chanakyapuri, while the third call was received at 10.50 a.m. from Bal Bharati School in Sector 14, Rohini. As of 12.55 p.m., search operations at both schools were underway, officials said.

A senior Central district police official said threats had also been received by several other establishments. At least five schools in the Central district had received threats, the official said, adding that the Dr. S.P.M. Civic Centre, the headquarters of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), was also among the locations mentioned.

Police and emergency response teams have been carrying out anti-sabotage checks at the affected premises. Such checks typically involve securing the premises and restricting movement in the area while bomb detection and disposal teams, along with trained dog squads, conduct systematic searches for any suspicious object or explosive material.

Monday’s (September 21) threats come amid a series of bomb threat emails targeting schools and other public institutions in Delhi in recent weeks. On September 15, several prominent schools, including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, The British School, Air Force Bal Bharati School and Carmel Convent School, received bomb threat emails. Security agencies searched the premises and the threats were subsequently declared hoaxes.

Earlier this month, multiple schools and government establishments, including the Delhi Assembly, the Civic Centre and the Mayor’s Office, also received bomb threat emails.
