Faculty development programme on linear algebra, differential equations begins at Andhra University

The Department of Applied Mathematics, College of Science and Technology, Andhra University, began a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Applications of Linear Algebra and Differential Equations” on Saturday (September 19, 2026).

The programme, which will continue until September 23, aims to enhance the knowledge and research capabilities of faculty members, research scholars and postgraduate students in contemporary developments and interdisciplinary applications of linear algebra and differential equations.

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar, College of Science and Technology Principal M.V.R. Raju and Y.V.S. Sanyasi Raju, Professor, Department of Mathematics, IIT Madras, attended the inaugural session.

The organisers said the programme would provide participants with exposure to recent advances, emerging applications, computational techniques and research opportunities in the two areas. It will feature lectures by academicians from leading institutions, interactive sessions and discussions on contemporary research trends.

M. Vijaya Santhi, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics, is the convener. K. Rajendra Prasad, P. Vijaya Laxmi, T. Vinutha and Madhusmita Tripathy are the co-conveners.

Faculty members, research scholars and participants from various institutions are attending the programme, which will feature lectures, technical sessions and discussions by experts from academic and research institutions across the country.
