The NH-167-A Narasaraopet bypass road is expected to be completed by March 2027, Palnadu District Collector Kritika Shukla said, marking the completion of the land acquisition process.
Speaking to The Hindu on completing one year in office, Ms. Shukla said land acquisition awards had been completed in all 14 villages. Nearly 90% of the land had been handed over to the National Highways Authority of India, paving the way for tenders.
The project had remained stalled for three years because of court cases and resistance from affected farmers. Its execution is expected to improve connectivity between Amaravati and Narasaraopet, reduce travel time and ease traffic congestion in Narasaraopet town.
Ms. Shukla said Palnadu designed ‘Abhyudayam’, or ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’, to promote economic empowerment by identifying livelihood clusters in 28 mandals and providing loans. Proposals had been prepared for 30 processing and manufacturing units involving red chilli, red gram, dairy products, curry leaves, turmeric, maize, mushroom cultivation, jute bags and sheep-based industries, supporting Swarnandhra-2047 goals.
She said 52,872 grievances were received through the public grievance redressal platform and Revenue Clinic, and 43,648 were resolved. A special grievance forum for persons with disabilities was launched in December and is held on the fourth Saturday monthly.

Under Swarnagrama-Aarogya Darsini, 20.41 lakh residents of 526 villages were covered for health screening and nutrition awareness. The Skills Hub helped 550 people secure jobs, while job melas benefited 4,226 youth, in the one year, she added.
From January to August 2026, 1,65,274 Pattadar Passbooks were distributed in 170 villages. Mega credit outreach provided ₹3,216 crore in loans for 1.03 lakh beneficiaries. Amaravati CHC secured fifth under NQAS with 96.17%, while 13,104 adolescent girls received HPV vaccination. Public satisfaction stood at 71.55%, fifth in the State.
