Kurnool Assembly Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and Municipal Commissioner Challa Obulesu has said arrangements have been made to conduct a ‘Special Campaign Day’ on September 5 and 6 in the Kurnool Assembly constituency.
Mr. Obulesu held a meeting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and supervisors on Friday and instructed them to conduct special camps at all polling stations in the constituency on the two days.
He said eligible new voters could submit Form-6 for enrolment in the electoral roll. Form-7 could be used to file objections or seek deletion of names of ineligible persons, while Form-8 could be submitted for corrections or changes to details such as name and address, or for updating residential information.
Mr. Obulesu urged youngsters who had attained the age of 18 and were yet to register as voters to make use of the opportunity. He also advised citizens to verify whether their names were included in the electoral roll.
As the deadline for filing claims and objections is September 10, he asked eligible persons to submit their applications within the stipulated period. BLOs would be available at their respective polling stations during the special campaign to assist voters and provide information.
