As many as 17 students rode bicycles blindfolded in Vijayapura on September 1.

Students of the ‘Learners Zone’ skill learning centre rode bicycles for around five kilometres in the city. They claimed to have learnt ‘Gandhari Vidya’ skill, that lets them do routine things blindfolded. There were 17 children aged 6-14, attempting to set a world record.

Basavaraj Yaligar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, flagged off the ride in front of Sainik School. The rally proceeded via Godavari Circle, Shivaji Circle, Gandhi Circle, Basaveshwara Circle, Dr. Ambedkar Circle and the stadium, and ended at the Gol Gumbaz.

According to the organisers, this education increases concentration, self-confidence and latent talent in children. It is helpful in helping them stay away from mobile addiction. Videos of this achievement have been submitted to an organisation that documents world records.
