IPL 2024: Upset With ‘Water Bottles Mess’, Ishan Kishan’s Message To Fans

Posted on March 17, 2024 By admin

Ishan Kishan, a player who has been in the headlines for a long time, is preparing relentlessly for the new Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season with the Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the start of the new campaign, Ishan shared a few words for the fans of the franchise in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians. In the video, Ishan issued a ‘message for the people’ as the wicket-keeper batter and his teammates intensify their training session before the start of the 17th season of the T20 league.

“Message for the people. Everyone comes for practice. But wherever they go, they should not throw water bottles everywhere. Try and keep your ground clean. Just small things and you will improve in everything. Small changes are also important, which you should do,” said Kishan in a video posted by the Mumbai Indians.

Ishan was constantly in the news because of his decision to keep himself unavailable for national selection while also giving domestic cricketing assignments a miss. He also refrained from playing Ranji Trophy for his state team Jharkhand, a decision that earned him plenty of criticism from fans and the BCCI bosses.

Last year, Mumbai Indians reached the Playoffs but a quick-fire hundred from Gujarat Titans’ Shubman Gill in Qualifier 2 helped them beat the Rohit Sharma-led MI.

MI under Rohit’s leadership became IPL heavyweights with five title triumphs in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

The Mumbai-based franchise has struggled to recreate its past glory in recent years after losing their core group of players featuring Quinton de Kock, Kieron Pollard, Trent Boult, and the Pandya brothers.

In November 2023, MI traded all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an all-cash deal through the trading window. This transaction provided the necessary funds for MI to finalize another all-cash deal with Gujarat Titans (GT) to acquire the services of Hardik Pandya.

The five-time IPL champions entered the mini-auction with one of the smallest purses in the room – 17.75 crore. MI’s think tank, however, got their permutations and combinations right as they acquired the services of Gerald Coetzee, Dilshan Madushanka, Mohammad Nabi, and Nuwan Thushara for reasonable prices.
