Two workers killed in pharma unit blast near Hyderabad

Two workers were killed and 11 others were injured in a reactor blast in a pharmaceutical firm in Dothigudem in Pochampally in Yadadri district late on Friday (August 21, 2026) night. The factory is about 50 km from Hyderabad.

According to police officials, the incident occurred late on Friday (August 21, 2026) night triggering panic among residents due to the explosion. Hazelo Lab is involved in the manufacture of Active Pharma Ingredients (Bulk Drug Intermediates), according to regulatory filing with the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority.

Fire services personnel are on the spot assessing the damage and carrying out rescue efforts.
