Gokaldas Exports, Bengaluru-based apparel manufacturer and exporter, has posted a 7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to ₹44 crore in first quarter (Q1) of 2026,

Total income grew 21% YoY to ₹1,180 crores, said the company, which exports to more than 50 countries.

Total income from domestic operations grew by 16% YoY, benefiting from higher order execution and realisations. This was against the backdrop of a 12% YoY decline in Indian apparel exports in the same period.

Its Africa business registered a growth of 45% YoY during the quarter, driven by higher volumes, following the renewal of AGOA (The African Growth and Opportunity Act, a trade pact providing duty-free access to the U.S. market for thousands of products from eligible Sub-Saharan African nations).

Its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) grew by 17% YoY, even as margins remained flat as the benefit of operating leverage and productivity gains was offset by an increase in wages and other factor costs.

Sivaramakrishnan Ganapathi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Gokaldas Exports, said, better order execution in India and higher volume in Africa led to a strong income growth in the quarter.

“The company has come out of penal tariff and now enjoys parity with global peers, which allows it to compete on a level playing field for business. Focus on productivity gains and a strong order book should help growth and margins going forward,” he added.
