Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, on Monday, launched a portal to provide various services, including issuance of residence, income, caste/community, legal heir, and patta transfer certificates online.

The portal https://serviceonline.gov.in could be used by residents to obtain the certificates online without visiting various government departments. A person in need of a certificate could register from anywhere for obtaining the document. The applicants would be informed about the status of request for certificate through SMS and email, an official release here said.

Students of government and government-aided schools could utilise the platform for obtaining a certificate from August 18. There will be a QR code in the certificate for verifying whether the document was original or fake. A Digilocker facility has also been integrated with the portal, the release said.

The Chief Minister also distributed the enhanced paddy production-linked incentive to around 3,600 farmers in the Union Territory. The production-linked incentive was increased from ₹5000 per acre to ₹6000 to general category farmers and from ₹6,000 per acre to ₹7,000 per acre for SC farmers. Minister for Agriculture G.N.S. Rajasekharan, DMK leader in the Assembly A.M.H. Nazeem and legislators were present.
