As many as 35 companies and corporate organisations, representing diverse sectors including information technology, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, services, and administration participated in a job fair organised by JITO Jobs for persons with disability in Chennai on Thursday.

A total of 328 persons with disabilities participated where interviews were conducted by the companies, and the recruitment process was initiated for suitable candidates. The programme was an effort to promote inclusive employment and equal opportunities.

Rajesh Chandan, chairman, JITO Chennai Chapter, stated that this was not a routine job fair, but a unique initiative aimed at integrating specially abled individuals into the mainstream by providing employment opportunities that match their talent and capabilities.

An artificial limb distribution was also organised by Mukti, a charitable organisation, where beneficiaries received artificial limbs, specially crafted prosthetic hands, and other assistive devices.
