The maiden budget of the TVK government received a positive response from industries and Chambers of Commerce in Tamil Nadu, with industry leaders calling it a progressive budget that focuses on growth and industrial development. “This maiden Budget delivers on fundamentals of industrial competitiveness, AI-led investment facilitation, and infrastructure built for scale. Battery storage, rooftop solar, smart metering, and EV charging networks aren’t add-ons here, they are core to Tamil Nadu’s pitch as India’s top investment destination. These steps will also help MSMEs unlock the full potential of India’s Free Trade Agreements and propel manufacturing growth across the State,” said Ravichandran Purushothaman, Chairman, CII Southern Region and President, Danfoss India.
“New ITIs, AI and robotics training, and expanded apprenticeships mean the talent pipeline is being built in parallel not as an afterthought,” said Murugavel Janakiraman, Vice Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu and Founder and CEO of Matrimony.com. The Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) said that the budget reflects a conscious effort to balance long-term economic priorities with investments in human capital and social development. A. Doshi, President, CREDAI Chennai, said that the MY-HOME Affordable Housing Scheme, aimed at providing affordable homes for working-class youth and lower-income families through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is a welcome initiative. Shiva Shanker, Senior Vice President of SICCI said that the Chamber welcomes the proposed internship opportunities for 20,000 youth in the first phase, skill and employability training for one lakh job seekers, and five new Industrial Training Institutes at an outlay of ₹90 crore. “Industry linkage will be critical to ensure that course design, assessment and placements are aligned with actual demand. SICCI stands ready to help shape curricula and facilitate internships and placements across its member network,” he added.
