DMK cadre led by Former Minister I. Periyasamy staging a road blockade near the Bus Stand in Dindigul on Tuesday, condemning the arrest of their party leader Udhayanidhi Stalin.

DMK functionaries staged road blockades at various places in Dindigul district, condemning the arrest of Leader of the Opposition and DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin. The protests were led by former DMK Ministers I. Periyasamy and R. Sakkarapani.
In Dindigul, the party functionaries staged a protest at the Dindigul bus stand. They raised slogans condemning the arrest of Mr. Udhayanidhi. They also raised slogans and condemned the TVK-led State government.
Protesters were detained by police and later released in the evening. The protests were held across the district, including Oddanchatram, Palani and Vedasandur. Similar protests were held across Theni district.
DMK district secretaries K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran and Thangam Thennarasu led the protests in Virudhunagar. Scores of party men were arrested for the demonstrations held in multiple locations in the district protesting against the arrest of Mr. Udhayanidhi.
