DU extends deadline for candidates to accept seats

DU extends deadline for candidates to accept seats

Posted on July 26, 2026 By admin

Delhi University on Sunday extended by a day the deadline for candidates allotted seats in the second round of admissions to accept their offers.

Colleges will now verify and approve applications by July 28, and candidates will have time till July 29 to accept their seats.

Under the earlier schedule, colleges were to complete approvals by July 27, with candidates required to confirm their seats by July 28.

Admissions officials said the extension was granted in view of the additional workload on colleges, which are set to conduct orientation programmes as the academic session begins on July 28.

In a notice, the university advised candidates to pay the fees promptly after their applications are approved. “By doing this activity on time, the candidates will be able to join the college on the first day of the commencement of the academic session,” it said.

On July 25, a total of 24,814 fresh allocations were made in the second round. Overall, 88,584 candidates have been allotted seats so far.
