Lt Commanders Roopa A. and Dilna K. and Zuhra Cherukappalli at the Sainik School, Kazhakuttam
The cadets of Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, on Saturday got a rare opportunity to interact with two Indian Navy officers who circumnavigated the globe in a sailing vessel and a mountaineer who had scaled the Mount Everest.
Lieutenant Commanders of the Indian Navy, Dilna K. and Roopa A., who circumnavigated the globe aboard the Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, and Zuhra Cherukappalli, an accomplished mountaineer who scaled Mount Everest, led the motivational lecture and interactive session ‘Talk on Circumnavigation of the Globe and Mount Everest Expedition.’
Lieutenant Commanders Roopa and Dilna narrated their unforgettable voyage across the world’s oceans with presentations, photographs and videos. Speaking about the challenges that they encountered, they highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline, perseverance, planning and mental resilience. Ms. Cherukappalli shared photographs and experiences from her Mt. Everest expedition. She spoke about the endurance, mental strength and determination required to conquer the world’s highest peak.
Colonel Pramod M., Director, Kerala and Lakshadweep NCC Directorate; Colonel Dhirendra Kumar, Principal, Sainik School Kazhakuttam; Commander Abraham Philip, Administrative Officer, joined the faculty and students for the sessions.
