The meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved a series of measures aimed at accelerating the development of Amaravati while extending enhanced benefits to land pooling farmers and families affected by infrastructure projects, on Tuesday (July 7, 2026)..

On this occasion, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said farmers who newly joined the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) from June 12, 2024, would receive an annual annuity of ₹40,000 per acre for ten years from the date of surrendering their land. The annuity will increase every year by ₹5,000 per acre for irrigated (Jareebu) land and ₹3,000 per acre for dry land.

The Authority reaffirmed the government’s earlier decision to extend the annuity period from 10 to 15 years for farmers who pooled land between 2014 and 2019, considering the delay in capital city development during the previous five years.

Families losing residential land in village habitation areas for trunk road construction will be allotted developed plots of equivalent extent within the same village. The monthly rental assistance during house construction has also been doubled from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 per month for one year.

The Authority further approved an agricultural loan waiver up to ₹1.50 lakh for families contributing land for projects such as the International Airport, International Sports City, railway corridor, Inner Ring Road (IRR) and smart industries. The waiver will apply to eligible agricultural loans availed on or before January 6, 2026.

Among other decisions, the Authority approved payment of ₹159 crore to the Endowments Department for transferring 307 acres earmarked for the International Sports City. Land was also allotted for a Fisheries Department aquarium and office, besides allocations to the Art of Living Foundation, Isha Foundation and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that each of the 25 townships proposed across the 217 sq. km Amaravati capital region includes at least one national or international school and a modern hospital.

Responding to questions on the Seed Access Road, Mr. Narayana said the government would initiate land acquisition proceedings if the remaining landowners did not voluntarily join the land pooling programme within the stipulated deadline. He said construction of the steel bridge on the corridor had been completed and would be handed over within ten days, while efforts were continuing to secure the remaining land required for completing the road project.
