An 18-year-old migrant worker was killed while trying to board a moving train at the Tambaram railway station on Monday.
A senior official of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said the deceased was identified as Sahil Kumar, a native of Bihar, and had been staying in Virudhunagar with two friends, working at a brick kiln for the past two months.
Sahil Kumar along with his friends had come to Tambaram from Virudhunagar and had planned to return to his native place. When Mr. Kumar attempted to board the Nagaon Express, he lost his balance and fell.
He was trapped between the platform and the express train, resulting in severe body injuries. The passengers rushed him to the Tambaram Government District Headquarters Hospital, where he was declared dead. A case has been registered.
