Oil-marketing companies on Wednesday (July 1, 2026) reduced the prices of the commercial variant of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by an average of ₹180 per cylinder and that of the five-kg free trade LPG (FTL) cylinders by approximately ₹13 per cylinder.

The reduction in prices was the first sign of an easing supply situation with more than a hundred-day-long conflict in West Asia heading to a probable conclusion.

Although prices of domestic LPG remain unaltered.

Wednesday’s price cut comes in after four tranches of hikes that saw price of commercial LPG cumulatively increase to ₹1,345 per cylinder since March 7.

Further, the fall in commercial LPG prices come in nearly a week after the Union Petroleum Ministry June 25 restored the supply of industrial and commercial LPG to pre-crisis levels and withdrew all sector-specific allocations, citing an improved supply situation.

Latest prices

The 19 kg cylinder in Delhi – which also serves as the benchmark for prices in the country – became cheaper by ₹183.5 to ₹2,930 per cylinder.

Further, the price of the five-kg free trade LPG cylinder refills – primarily catering to migrant labourers – now stands at ₹808.5 per cylinder with the latest reduction.

Along largely similar lines, Mumbai woke up to prices of the 19-kg cylinder being reduced ₹182 per cylinder to ₹2,885 per cylinder.

Prices in Kolkata have been reduced by ₹174 to ₹3081.5 per cylinder.

Chennai too witnessed a ₹177 reduction in prices with the 19 kg cylinder now being sold at ₹3,106 per cylinder.

Nayara Energy cuts petrol price

Nayara Energy, India’s largest private fuel retailer, on Wednesday (July 1) cut petrol prices by ₹5 per litre and diesel by ₹3 a litre across its nationwide network, marking the first reduction in retail fuel prices by any company in more than two years as easing tensions in West Asia pulled down international oil prices.

The price cut follows a retreat in global crude oil prices after hostilities in West Asia eased and the reopening of a key maritime route restored the flow of crude oil and liquefied natural gas, reducing concerns over supply disruptions.

The revised rates have come into effect at all of Nayara’s more than 7,000 fuel stations across the country, industry sources said. Actual pump prices vary across states depending on local levies such as value-added tax (VAT).

Public sector fuel retailers, however, kept prices unchanged. State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), which together account for more than 90 per cent of India’s over one lakh fuel stations, did not announce any revision.

In Delhi, petrol continues to be priced at ₹102.12 per litre and diesel at ₹95.20 per litre at IOC outlets.
