Chiranth becomes first Indian to win a race in Motegi

Posted on June 22, 2026 By admin

Chiranth Vishwanath from Bengaluru became the first Indian to win a race at the iconic Mobility Resort Motegi racetrack in Japan recently.

He finished the third round of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship with a victory and fourth-place finish in the TVS Asia Championship category.

Having qualified fourth after a series of fastest laps in the official practice session, 18-year-old Chiranth, astride a TVS Apache RR 310, led from the start in Race-1. However, in the fifth lap of the eight-lap race, he fell to P5 after contact with another rider. But he recovered, passing three riders in the last lap to post a win, his first of the championship.

In Race-2, Chiranth was in second until the last lap when a contact with a fellow rider cost him two spots. The win and P4 finish helped Chiranth move up to fourth in the championship as he prepares for the next round in Indonesia in August.

Chiranth celebrates his win in TVS Asia race of ARRC Round-3 in Japan.
