The Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), Visakhapatnam Unit, has invited applications from schoolchildren for its 2026 batch.

According to a press release, boys and girls aged 10 to 12, born between August 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016, and studying in Classes V, VI and VII are eligible. Applicants should have a working knowledge of English.

Application forms will be available at the INS Circars Command Swimming Pool on June 20, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Candidates must produce a study certificate, along with certified copies of their birth certificate and Aadhaar, while collecting the forms. Completed applications should be submitted at the same venue on June 28, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A written test, a physical test and an oral test will be held on July 5 to select the candidates. Selected candidates will receive call letters on or before August 1, and training for the 2026 batch will begin on August 2.

The SCC, a voluntary youth organisation, gives training in drill, shooting, swimming, boat pulling, semaphore and rigging, and seeks to build discipline, confidence and leadership among cadets. Training is held every Sunday, from 7 a.m. to noon.
