Man arrested for sexually harassing woman in Vadapalani

A 30-year-old architect was arrested for sexually harassing a woman in Vadapalani. 

According to the police, a 24-year-old woman residing in Vadapalani area, who works at an ice cream shop, was allegedly sexually harassed by a man on a two-wheeler in the early hours of Monday.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim at the Vadapalani Police Station, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women (TNPHW) Act. On investigation, the police arrested the accused identified as Prithvirajan, 30, a resident of Bhajanai Koil Street in Vadapalani. 

During interrogation, the police found that Prithvirajan worked as an architect. The two-wheeler allegedly used in the commission of the offence was seized.

Following the investigation, the accused was remanded to judicial custody as per the court’s orders.
