To promote higher education among schoolchildren and provide admission-related support, a district-level higher education guidance and control room has been established at the Tiruchi Collectorate.
The initiative aims at assisting students from various backgrounds in 2025-26 academic year, including those who have passed, failed, or did not appear for the Class XII examinations, students with disabilities, students without parental support, economically disadvantaged students, those facing health or social challenges, students residing in refugee camps, and others unable to pursue higher education for various reasons.
Students who were not selected during the counselling process after completing Classes XI and XII will be guided towards higher education opportunities, including diploma, Industrial Training Institute (ITI), and other skill-based courses.
Information related to higher education guidance, counselling, arts and science colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs will be made available through this control room. Assistance will be provided for admissions in government arts and science colleges and government technical training institutions in the district.
To address students’ concerns and admission-related grievances, a grievance redress meeting will be conducted every fourth week from June to October 2026. For details, call 9788859038 or 0431-2418995.
