Mansi Lather, the recently crowned Under-23 Asian champion who narrowly missed out on the Asian Games squad losing the selection trials in the final, dominated the proceedings at the Under-20 Asian Championships trials here on Wednesday. Mansi beat Kirti in the 68kg at the selection trials for the upcoming event in Thailand from June 26.
Sisters Samruddhi Satish and Gauri Satish also won their respective trials in the Under-15 33kg and 39kg respectively.
Among the men, Ronak in the 125kg and Lacky in the 87kg, who both fell short in the Asian Games trials last week, made the cut in the Under-20. Akshay Rana in the 97kg would lead the Indian charge in the Under-20 Greco-Roman.
While the women’s trials were held at the IGI Stadium here, the men’s trials in Greco-Roman and Freestyle were held simultaneously in Lucknow.
