Satheesan to open State-level Pravesanotsavam on June 1

Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan will perform the State-level inauguration of the school Pravesanotsavam (school reopening celebration) at Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Pattom, here at 9 a.m. on June 1.

Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen will preside over the function, to be attened by Minister for Health K. Muraleedharan and Minister for Transport C.P. John. People’s representatives, cultural and education activists will attend the event.

A meeting to constitute an organising committee was held at the school on Thursday. A 101-member organising committee with with Mayor V.V. Rajesh as chairperson, Corporation Education standing committee chairperson Chempazhanthy Udayan as vice chairperson, and Thiruvananthapuram deputy director of education Sreeja Gopinath as general convener was formed.

The meeting was presided over by additional director of general education Santhosh C.A. City Corporation councillor Reshma P. inaugurated the meeting. Samagra Shiksha Kerala additional State project director M.K. Shinemon explained about activities in connection with the Pravesanotsavam.
