Junior National Championships – The Hindu

The 76th junior National basketball championship for boys and girls will be held from May 22 to 29 at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here.

Organised by the Pondicherry Basketball Association under the aegis of the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), the tournament will feature 30 teams in the boys’ section and 25 in the girls’ section. Defending champion Tamil Nadu will look to retain both titles in the week-long competition featuring the country’s top junior talent.

The groupings: Men: A: Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi; B: Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Chandigarh; C: Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Puducherry; D: Assam, Goa, Meghalaya, Telangana; E: Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Manipur, Uttarakhand; F: Andaman & Nicobar, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal.

Women: A: Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Chhattisgarh; B: Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan; C: Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Goa; D: Telangana, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal; E: Puducherry, Assam, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand; F: Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha.
